Starting my 2nd year here and it's genuinely great! And you will love it too but only if you like anatomy and science topics. It can be hard for some people bc of how much you need to remember but if you enjoy learning about topics that are connected to sport or kin, you will do great! Whether you pick UofT or McMaster etc you will get the same work load. I recommend York cause the profs and TA's are very nice and understanding. Good luck to y'all :)) don't overwork yourself!!

I’d say the program was fairly effective in helping me get into this career. I’m on my 4th coop term and already have a FT role ready. The nice thing about the university is that the community is very helpful (current students and alumni) and that helped me land my coops. One thing they need to work on is to push more on students to pass exams. The good thing about this career is that you can get a job with actuarial exams; that’s where our field exceeds those in eng or cs because it’s hard to identify a successful candidate there as everyone does the coding courses and projects. For us, we kind of just put a higher priority on those with exams so the university needs to endorse more exam passing as students at other universities pass a lot more and then take the bulk of the coops.
Overall I loved my 5 years here, wouldn’t change a thing:)
If you guys ever want to reach out to me, I’m on LinkedIn: Tanveer Bajwa. You can ask for advice, questions, job stuff, course stuff, practically anything. I love helping people out in this field so don’t be shy to ask questions!

programs not bad
profs all suck, they don't know how to teach and their assignments and quizzes and exams have questions that really don't make sense, they aren't testing your knowledge but trying to trick you
courses are more theoretical, barely any application
courses also depend on profs, some profs teach different coding languages for the same course depending on what they like
really hard to fail behind if no interest in coursework
first 2 years was fine after 2nd year the courses have barely any effort in them
in terms of co-op, you have many options from PM roles to Business Analyst and a lot of companies hire BTM students, you can even get dev roles if you lock in
program is versatile so you can also do business roles like consulting etc.
the co-op program is really good they help you land roles and perfect your resume etc.
the student groups for BTM are also really good they have good events and student engagement
